Hailing from Newport News, Virginia, aka “Bad Newz” The city of Caprices and Impalas…where it's a hard knock life by day and action by night… A city often overlooked for its breeding ground of fresh talent…meet Don Vega. VA's latest concoction of feel good / ride out music. In a city that's produced a versatile range of sounds and artists, Don Vega introduces a rare blend of Northern lyrical word play, encompassed over southern swag and blazing tracks!

Choosing the microphone as his outlet (as opposed to falling victim to the merciless Bad Newz streets) Don Vega caught the music bug at the tender age of 15. Putting pen to paper and letting his lyrical thoughts flow into what would later become a solid catalog of over 30 tracks. Soon enough as time progressed, so did his writing style.

Now in 2009, he's making it official as a debut artist pushing through the hyped up clutter in the music industry and dedicated to lasting for more than just the typical 15 minutes of industry fame.

While others are releasing singles (just meant to last the summer) using infectious bubble gum rhymes simply to hook airplay, Don Vega is focused on creating mature music gangsta enough for the Chevy's riding high yet subtle enough to woo the ladies.

Production has wrapped on the remix to the successful first single ("Tippy Toes") Blessing the remix track is music legend  and pioneer of the Go-Go sound, Big Tony of  Trouble Funk. This remix will take the single to new heights!

Just as the sun shines over Bad Newz, "Tippy Toes" is a single that shines with swagger, style, confidence and an international flavor and appeal rarely seen before.

This track connects with audiences on a global scale and is not limited to one particular cultural, regional or generational demographic. It appeals to people that are craving feel good music that's made for more than just the dance floor.

The “Tippy Toes” track is one of many other strong tracks from his forthcoming debut album, “Bearer of Bad Newz”, off of the Ill Chemistry Entertainment imprint. The “Tippy Toes” remix single is available on: ITunes, Rhapsody, Napster, Amazon, etc...

beat box - yeah!

getting back to what's real - you sound like Common - that's a real good thing - one of my favorite artist - good shit - keep doing u...- stylze from Cartersville, Georgia on 3Jan2008

Good voice

the beat is really good especially those organics drums!! the interpretation its pretty good.- slamma_sabactani from Unspecified on 2Jan2008

my ass is shakin

Though I typically don't like dance hip hop where all they talk about is a girl looking good, somehow this song works. The beat is not a club beat, but it's catchy and will have people dancing. I like the Middle Eastern strings and the hand drums. The simple and easy to remember-hook suggests that the artist would like to get commercial airplay. The beatbox does well to start the song, but I'd like to hear more of it.-

White_Light_Riot from Minneapolis, Minnesota on 2Jan2008

Get on dem tippy toes!

The hook was great and it would make a wonderful club track. Its one of those songs that makes you just wanna dance. I liked the production of the song, the beat was nicely done. The only negative aspect of the song that I noticed was its length. It was too long and sometimes people get tired of listening. Overall, nice job!-

mrmills from Olathe, Kansas on 1Jan2008

This is what its about...

Love this producion. very commercial but cutting edge.

- cashman2300 from Concord, North Carolina on 28Dec2007

nice intro

im luvin the beatbox @ the start.. the whole intro is dope

nice rhymes and its got a bounce on the track, the arrangement is off the hook. but what duz it for me is the drums and the hook. i LOVE the drums and the violin i think.

Beat Boxin

I love it! Sounds a lot like Rhymefest, one of my favorite hip hop groups. The beat boxing is very good, and adds to the overall production of the song!-

Bouncerpac from Hamburg, New York

Almost there..

The go go vibe is nice it works considering the subject matter. When the strings come in the beat really picks up. This seems like what Rakim over go go would probably sound like. The artist has a nice voice. -

 KidSyc from Stone Mountain, Georgia

Tippy

Drums....

The drums reminds of something I would hear at a wyclef concert when he's trying to do something crazy. its nice though

Hook...

The hook is very commercial. it will sell by it self now all u need is the tools to back it up

Arrangement....

I'm feeling the arrangement of the beat. I'm really feeling that shit. i love all the extras too. you got me bobbin over..lol

- smooothe25 from Savannah, Georgia on 26Dec2007

Almost

Nice old school feel to the intro. Nice method of approaching a decent topic. Hook is alright ..This one probably needs some insight and fixture to really bring more out of it...I mean it has Timberland potential..-

Paybakmusic from Broward County, Florida on 26Dec2007

Old School Flava

haha this is tight I love the beat, it almost sounds like GoGo music. Your lyrics are good. The "Tippy Toes" thing is kinda cheesy, but the beat bangs and the lyrics are good. The arrangement is good nuthin out of place. Great job it sounds professional

DJSmooth4Lyfe from Colesville, Maryland on 3Jan2008

DirtyHarry23 from Sauga, Ontario, Canada on 30Dec2007

Hip hop or rap?

It sounds like hip hop at first then it turns into rap! but good vocals and productions of the beat! Drums and arrangement! very original-

AP_Boyz from Carthage, North Carolina on 30Dec2007

The beggining is incredible. The artist can definately write, but doesnt fufill his potential.-

jjordanjones27 from Heathcote, New York on 30Dec2007

Confident start

Strong confident vocals well executed, good hook in the chorus. I like the orientel vibe, good beat/rythym. I can see people getting up on the dance floor for this one.

Generally good all round.-

Review by TReZ

Nice intro, love the beatboxing. Like how the beat comes in. The beat is flames once it comes in. Like when the instruments kick in; that makes the beat a lot iller. guitar or something, dont know what it is. that set it off. your flow is on point. not LOVING the hook, but i can listen to it. you got a hot style. sound quality is on point. keep it up

- strongarmworldwide from Columbia, South Carolina on 25Dec2007

Beat Box

If the whole song was done over a beat box it would have been sooooo sick. The beat was very engaging, but almost a little too exotic. The flow was tight and so were the lyrics but a really good chorus could save this song- YoungBoston from Roxbury, Massachusetts on 24Dec2007

Adoe-g review

i can say that this track is well produced and the emcee is fuggin perfect for this gender of hip hop. the flow has my head bobin from left to right, with a noticeably lyrical swang, i can say that you got what i takes to make it to the top.

- adoggyadog from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 24Dec2007

 Beat box!

gOOD bEAT BOX, BUT WE WANT TO HEAR A SMOOTHER FLOW. tHE RAPPING IS ON POINT WITH A CATCHY CHORUS! -

JerseyboyHero from Brick, New Jersey on 24Dec2007

Vega

This track has a new sound i like the beat its unique.the lyrics are typical for a club joint so i wasn`t looking for some Nas type flow. this is a good joint it has a radio sound all day,you get my vote.

chemistry is ill

head knocker, lyrical skills are up there, like the back-up vocals too, mixed in nice. Hook keeps you hooked like it should. dance music slash bump in your ride 'ish. nice as ice here. good work!
